Cancellation
Policy
We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of keeping
an appointment. If you need to cancel an appointment, please
notify us via telephone or email at least 24 hours prior to
your scheduled appointment. Customers who fail to fulfill
our cancellation policy will be required to hold future appointments
with a credit card and may be subject to charges for any services
missed in the future.

Our
massage practitioners have their own therapeutic style,
incorporating muscle stripping, stretching and Swedish techniques,
with a focus on relieving muscle tensions. Choose from the
following types of massage to customize your experience
to your specific needs: Swedish: What most people think of when they hear massage, this is a relaxing style using gliding strokes with the therapist’s palm, hand, fingers, or forearm to decrease muscle tone and increase circulation to promote health and well-being.
Deep Tissue: A more intense Swedish massage using deep pressure, frictions, or trigger point to targeted muscle groups and surrounding tissues. (Not recommended for people experiencing their first massage.) This style will most likely leave a client sore the following day.
Therapeutic: Targeted manipulation of soft tissues to address specific complaints such as muscle tension, spasm, and/or pain; often combines several techniques and client education of the body.
Sports: This style is used to flush metabolic waste, decrease muscle soreness, maintain flexibility and range of motion, while addressing specific muscle groups used during workouts, competitions, or specific activities (running, cycling, swimming, etc.).
Prenatal: Swedish techniques are used to soothe many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts during pregnancy. Specifically tailored for the expectant mother’s needs by a certified massage therapist, prenatal massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. Massage is safe from the first through last trimester, but extra caution is used during the first trimester. (A physician’s release is required for these conditions: High risk pregnancy, pregnancy induced hypertension, preeclampsia, severe or sudden onset of swelling, headaches, or high blood pressure.)

Hot Stone Massage:
Hot stone massage uses smooth, heated basalt stones. These volcanic rocks absorb and retain heat well. The heat is both deeply relaxing and helps tight muscles release.
Description: Your muscles will be warmed and massaged with heated stones, then replaced with another, warmer stone as they cool. This is followed by a traditional swedish massage when body and muscles are sufficiently heated up. Heated stones will also be left in specific points along your spine, such as in the palms of your hand, the stomach, and even between your toes to improve the flow and energy in your body.

Dry Skin Brushing:
Eliminates dead skin cells and tissue toxins, stimulates circulation and improves tone. Immune system is greatly improved with regularity. Your skin will feel luxurious.
Description: A brush will be used on your skin in a circular motion from feet to shoulders to exfoliate feet, legs, arms, back, chest (for men, upper chest for women) and stomach. Followed by a massage in a natural shea butter moisturizer. Can be precursor to a standard massage.

Aromatherapy:
Aromatherapy enhances the effects of massage with pure plant and flower essential oils to create a sense of well-being. Please let your masseuse know you would like to choose a scent to enhance your massage. Some oils are known for certain qualities. For instance, lavender may be used to boost your mood. Jasmine and chamomile can calm anxiety. To soothe a headache lavender and peppermint are commonly used.

Incorporates all of the techniques of Swedish massage plus a few extras to really indulge you! You receive a heated wrap to keep your feet warm, a warm gel face mask, heated packs to relieve neck tension, and a choice of aromatherapy scents for the ultimate relaxing experience. A hand and foot deep-moisturizing treatment, using a natural shea butter based product. Description: After your massage, the hands and feet will be massaged with shea butter moisturizer.

Soothing Peppermint Foot Treatment:
A great way to treat yourself; especially nice paired with Aromatherapy massage or if you are particularly stressed. Peppermint oil is excellent for mental fatigue and depression; refreshing the spirit, stimulating mental agility and improving concentration. Description: Wet, warm towels will be used to clean the feet before the session starts. Your feet will be massaged last, incorporating peppermint in the foot massage.

| Childcare is available in Kid Corner so parents are
able to enjoy a massage, nail service or personal
training session at New Self. Some memberships include
childcare. For those with memberships that do not
include childcare and non-members, our rates are per
service visit (not per hour). You will be billed along
with your service after you have finished: $10
for 1 child, $15 for 2 or more children
Please note: Parents with memberships
that include childcare are welcome to use some or
all of their 2 hours and 45 minutes per day childcare
time toward their service(s). However, any childcare
time used over this amount will still be subject to
the full childcare fees listed above.
Any parents who bring their children with them while
using our spa services are asked to leave their children
in Kid Corner for the duration of the service. Any
child receiving spa services must be at least 10 years
old at time of visit.

New Self’s Retreat Room is the perfect place to take a few minutes
to unwind and relax on your own terms. This quiet, comfortable
space can be reserved in ½-hour increments (2-½ hours max.) at
a rate of $8 per ½-hour for members and $15 per ½-hour for non-members.
Our “One Adult w/Children” and “Family” memberships include 3
hours of retreat room use per month. “Single” memberships include
1 hour free, and “Couple” memberships include 2 hours of free
retreat room use.
